FEB17 : ALEX BELLEGARDE is one of the hardest working bass players in Montreal. At last year's Montreal International Jazz Festival his quartet won the General Motor's Grand Prize for most promising new jazz talent. Besides being a very in-demand sideman, Alex also runs the weekly Tuesday night Jam Sessions at NYK's bar. Alex will be in-studio on our Feb. 17th show and will start making regular contributions to the show, reporting on the pulse of the jazz community in Montreal.

DEC16 : The KatrinAID fund-raiser concert took place this past week at the Spectrum, featuring over 85 musicians. Georges 'Boule Noire' Thurston was the driving force behind the event which featured Oliver Jones, Renee Lee, Jim Zeller, Bob Walsh, Nancy Martinez and the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir to name just several of the acts. NOV11 : Show number 073 modulates out the CINQ antenna with two reports on events happening in the city. The Montreal Music Show is this weekend and we have an interview with show producer Serge Gamache about this 1st edition.





Later in the show, we visit the Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur to talk with Phonotheque director Christian Lewis about a Jazz exhibit running from Nov. 10th to Dec 15th.
